MURAL DEL CABIN EN VERA
MURAL DEL CABIN EN VERA
MANOS, AMOR Y CEREBRO

CABIN MURAL IN VERA
Report by Manuel Mudry. LetyanaPress
Vera. Important news is arriving from this locality. The “Paseo de las Artes” (Arts Walk) looks refreshed thanks to the restoration work being carried out on the historic railway cabin.
The hands of local artists, with the support of the Municipal Directorate of Culture, are coordinating and executing actions to celebrate the 134th anniversary of the founding of Vera, to be held this coming June 23rd.
HANDS, HEART, AND MIND
Artist Leonel Alcaráz has taken charge of this arduous task, joined by some of the original creators of the mural who are now working on its final restoration.
A highlight of this process is the involvement of a new generation of artists who have joined the initiative.
The artists expressed: “This work, which represents our region’s fauna, had suffered the natural wear and tear of time. However, thanks to this joint effort, we are recovering a piece that is part of our identity and a meeting point for all the people of Vera. The original painting took us a month and a half of work, but now, having the existing drawing has made the task easier; we only had to touch it up and restore the strength of the colors,” Alcaráz explained.
For his part, Eduardo Perot stated:
“Art is also built through connection, teaching, and a commitment to our culture.”
He added: “This building is one of the relics preserved as a historical symbol representing the golden age of the railway. Today, it is a true icon that regains its significance during every anniversary of this city, which was ‘born at the tip of the rails.’”
