Norma Catinot de Guastavino nació en Rosario el 21 de octubre de 1933.
Cursó estudios en el taller de Raúl Monsegur en Buenos Aires y con Ricardo Supisiche en Rosario en el año 1958.
Por otra parte, asistió a la Escuela Provincial de Artes Visuales Juan Mantovani. Norma, expuso individualmente en el Museo Municipal de Artes Visuales de Santa Fe, Museo Provincial de Bellas Artes Rosa Galisteo.
También engalanó con su presencia las galerías Witcomb, Arthea, Rubio, Rubbers, de Capital Federal.
Todo esto alternando con sus participaciones en artistas plásticos de Santa fe.
Su arte llegó a Córdoba mediante las Galerías Lautrec y Rubbers de Córdoba.
Rosario, Paraná, Mendoza, la tuvieron entre sus expositores.
Norma, desde Santa Fe, hizo sentir su presencia en varias provincias del país, aunque también en Asunción del Paraguay, República Dominicana, Estados Unidos, Chile y Perú.
Tuvo el Gran Premio de Honor en el Salón de Ceres, Santa Fe, en 1960, el Gran Premio de Honor en el Salón de Esperanza, Santa Fe en 1963, el Gran Premio de Honor en el Salón de la Sociedad Argentina de Artistas Plásticos en Santa Fe en 1965.
También tuvo el Premio Liceo Militar General Belgrano en el Salón Nacional de Santa Fe en 1966, el Tercer Premio en el Salón Nacional de Córdoba en 1967, el Primer Premio Richard Wagner en el Salón Nacional en 1979, el Primer Premio en el Salón del Litoral en 1981.
Finalmente podemos decir que siguio con la saga: Segundo Premio en la Bienal Nacional de Villa Mercedes, San Luis en 1989, el Primer Premio en el Salón de Acuarelas de Santa Fe en 1994. Fue distinguida como Mujer destacada en el Arte por la Subsecretaría de Cultura de Santa Fe en 2002 y recibió el Gran Premio de Honor Mujer en el Arte Contemporáneo Argentino en 2003.
Hacia 2010 prepara una retrospectiva en el Lawnn Tennis Club de Santa fe, mientras alternaba con presentaciones en Guastavino Imbert. Su pintura es de “Tono onírico, muy personal. Es asimismo pintura de contrapuntos”, dijo el crítico Jorge M Taverna Irigoyen.
Fallece en Rosario el 21 de abril de 2017.
Norma Catinot de Guastavino was born in Rosario on October 21, 1933. She studied at Raúl Monsegur’s workshop in Buenos Aires and with Ricardo Supisiche in Rosario in 1958. Additionally, she attended the Juan Mantovani Provincial School of Visual Arts. Norma held solo exhibitions at the Municipal Museum of Visual Arts of Santa Fe and the Rosa Galisteo Provincial Museum of Fine Arts.
She also graced the Witcomb, Arthea, Rubio, and Rubbers galleries in Buenos Aires with her presence, while simultaneously participating in the Santa Fe visual artists community. Her art reached Córdoba through the Lautrec and Rubbers galleries. Rosario, Paraná, and Mendoza also hosted her exhibitions. From Santa Fe, Norma made her presence felt in several provinces across the country, as well as in Asunción (Paraguay), the Dominican Republic, the United States, Chile, and Peru.
She was awarded the Grand Prize of Honor at the Ceres Salon (Santa Fe) in 1960, the Grand Prize of Honor at the Esperanza Salon (Santa Fe) in 1963, and the Grand Prize of Honor at the Salon of the Argentine Society of Visual Artists in Santa Fe in 1965. She also received the Liceo Militar General Belgrano Prize at the National Salon of Santa Fe in 1966, the Third Prize at the National Salon of Córdoba in 1967, the First Richard Wagner Prize at the National Salon in 1979, and the First Prize at the Litoral Salon in 1981.
